The Lanai Slider Gets the Most Use
Most North Port homes open onto a lanai, and that sliding glass door is the busiest glass in the house. Hands, paws and pool towels all go through it, and the bottom track collects sand, grass clippings and sprinkler residue. When a slider starts to stick or grind, the track is usually the reason. We clean the glass on both sides, clear the track and wash the screen door. More on that on our sliding glass door cleaning page.
Pollen, Lovebugs and the North Port Calendar
From about February through May, oak and pine pollen settles on every flat surface, including window sills, screens and the outside of the glass. Then come the lovebugs: they fly in late spring, roughly April and May, and again in late summer, roughly August and September. They stick to glass and screens and are much easier to clean off before they've sat in the sun for weeks. That's why a lot of North Port homeowners book a cleaning after the spring pollen clears and another in the fall.
A simple habit helps between cleanings: walk the yard while the sprinklers run and turn any head that sprays the windows back toward the lawn.
Snowbird Homes and New Construction
Many North Port homes sit empty for part of the year. If you're coming down for the winter, we can clean before you arrive so the house is ready when you walk in, and we can come back after you leave. We can work with your home-watch company or property manager on access. See snowbird home-ready window cleaning for how that works. On the other end, new homes in Wellen Park and the West Villages often have builder dust on the glass and packed into the tracks. A full first cleaning once the dust settles gets the windows to a clean starting point.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do my lower windows have white spots?
Usually it's the sprinklers. Plenty of North Port homes water from a private well, and the minerals in that water stay on the glass when the spray dries in the sun.
Can you clean while I'm up north?
Yes. We can clean before you arrive or after you leave, and we can work with your home-watch company or property manager on access.
When is the best time of year to book?
Spring pollen and the two lovebug seasons are when glass gets dirty fastest. Many homeowners book after the spring pollen and again in the fall.
Do you clean new homes in Wellen Park?
Yes. New homes often have builder dust on the glass and in the tracks, and a full first cleaning of glass, screens, sills and tracks clears it out.
Next door, we're often working in Port Charlotte to the south and east and up the road in Venice, so North Port scheduling is usually easy. See the Clearvant homepage for photos of recent work and the online estimate form.
